Get to know more about their most common fruits in Tagalog language in today’s post so that you can impress your Filipino friends and colleagues in no time! To ensure translation quality, the script could also send the source text for translation rather than the browser text, as the browser text can be translated back and forth between different languages and get a bit jumbled along the way.The Philippines is not only home to some of the best beaches in the world, but it is actually also boasting a number of unique fruits you can only find in this Tropical country. A more complete script would scan the DOM for text objects, make one API call containing all text to be translated, and replace all text objects. This demo is a minimal proof-of-concept for web-based translation. Of course, there’s plenty of room for improvement. I relied heavily on Tania Rascia’s excellent API tutorial in developing this part of the script.ĪPI_KEY = " your-api-key " // replace with google api key, available from google console project // when the translate button is clicked, pull text from objects with ID "translateText" // and replace with a translated version. Accessing the data in those requests is a bit more complex. Opening and sending requests with XMLHttpRequest() is relatively straightforward. This script makes a POST to the the translate endpoint of the v2 translate API.Īs a newcomer to Javascript and XMLHttpRequest(), I found it easier to construct a URL manually than to add parameters with Javascript syntax.Īfter concatenating the base URL and the API key parameter, the target language is included with $("#targetLanguage").val() įinally, the text to be translated, identified by the ID #translateText, is encoded and included. text ()) // encodeURI converts strings to url-safe text val () // url += " &q= " + encodeURI ( $ ( " #translateText " ). construct url to translate content in #translateText to the language selected by #targetLanguage var url = " " url += " /?key= " + API_KEY url += " &target= " + $ ( " #targetLanguage " ). If you’re a developer interested in using the Google Translate API for your own web content, this part is for you. In this section I will break down the javascript behind this demo and discuss the limitations of this script. Human translators can help proofread NMTS translation to ensure high quality and readability in other languages. When content is written with metaphors or idioms, a NMTS may misrepresent the meaning. To remedy this, human translators can create dictionaries of these special cases and help to train the NMTS to improve future translation. Some phrases that are common on Chicago websites, like acronyms or department names, may be mistranslated by an out-of-the-box NMTS. Translating web content isn’t as easy as flipping a switch – while new neural machine translation services (NMTS) can translate text quickly with some accuracy, there are certain caveats. The City of Chicago has an enormous amount of digital content across a number of different websites. However, there is a trade-off between quality and speed: machine translation services like Google Translate provide translation nearly instantaneously, while human translation takes longer. A high quality of translation requires human translation or human proofreading of computer translation. The City of Chicago has a number of translation options available, ranging in quality, speed, and price. As a result, the City of Chicago is developing a web content translation strategy for the six most commonly spoken languages in Chicago: English, Spanish, Polish, Arabic, Mandarin, and Tagalog. The new administration is pushing for better compliance with a 2015 language access ordinance. One of the chief roles of the Design Office is improving the accessibility and inclusion of government services. After a bit of research and a bit of code, we have successfully shown how Google can be used to translate a static webpage into the six most commonly spoken languages in Chicago. This demo was developed to test the viability of computer translation, specifically neural machine translation services (NMTS) we’ve chosen to use Google Translate because it was the only out-of-the-box translation service to support Tagalog. The City of Chicago is exploring different strategies for web translation of City content.

Inspite of several advantages some potential long-term concerns connected to MSC therapy are maldifferentiation, immunosuppression and cancerous tumor growth. In many cases, this is sufficient to significantly enhance the patient's well-being. While MSCs do not offer treatment for illnesses, the idea behind them is to enable the body to recover sufficiently for a protracted reduction in symptoms. These transplants have powerful anti-inflammatory and immunosuppressive effects and greatly enhance the body's inherent healing capacity. MSCs can be transplanted into a variety of people without worrying about rejection because they have demonstrated the ability to prevent an adverse reaction from the immune system. However, mesenchymal stem cells (MSC) one of the categories of adult stem cells are stromal cells with a variety of potentials that can differentiate into a wide range of cell types. Adult stem cells are difficult to analyze and extract for research since they are frequently insufficient in native tissues. Embryonic stem cells have a high chance of immune rejection and also have ethical dilemmas and iPSCs have genetic instability. Stem cells come in three different varieties: adult stem cells, embryonic stem cells and induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs). They are used to regenerate tissues and cells in the body that have been damaged or destroyed by the disease. More than a dozen Utah state legislators will endorse him for president at the event, our friends at Playbook in D.C. DeSantis will be in Salt Lake City, Utah, where he is scheduled to hold a press conference with state leaders at the state Capitol. If the past is prologue, however, expect the governor and his supporters to respond forcefully to Harris soon. Prediction - The other messaging from Diaz and others is that the critics of the standards are in the thrall of the state’s teacher union - which has clashed repeatedly with the DeSantis administration over the past few years. Lanfranconi drew attention to this part: “Any attempt to reduce slaves to just victims of oppression fails to recognize their strength, courage and resiliency during a difficult time in American history.” Alex Lanfranconi, who works as a spokesperson for Education Commissioner Manny Diaz, late Thursday afternoon tweeted out a statement from those who worked on the new standards. But there has been some pushback from state education officials about the rising criticism. Response - There hasn’t been any direct response from DeSantis about this. And then on Thursday evening the White House announced that Harris would visit Florida, where she would “deliver remarks on the fight to protect fundamental freedoms, specifically, the freedom to learn and teach America’s full and true history.” So it looks the Biden administration is leaning into this. Oh by the way - It was just one part of Harris’ remarks, but the White House made sure to draw attention to it when excerpts were delivered to the media. They insult us in an attempt to gaslight us, and we will not stand for it.” “Just yesterday in the state of Florida, they decided middle school students will be taught that enslaved people benefited from slavery. And while they do this, check it out, they push forward revisionist history,” Harris said. Remarks - “Speaking of our children, extremists pass book bans to prevent them from learning our true history - book bans in this year of our Lord 2023. The topic - During her speech she took aim at African American history standards adopted this week by the state Board of Education that critics contend rewrite and omit key facts or push uncomfortable topics into higher grades. And it appears she plans to do it again when she touches down later today in Jacksonville. Rules of engagement - But Vice President Kamala Harris laid into the DeSantis administration during her keynote address on Thursday at Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc.’s national convention in Indianapolis. Ron DeSantis on a daily basis jabs, chides and criticizes President Joe Biden, it seems that the White House has frequent patches of remaining quiet. During the New Year’s period in 2020, the snow coverage was awful and only about 25% of the mountain was open. Park City is among the most awkward and overrated mountains when the snow is bad. If you want to use a more advanced autotune plugin for GarageBand, there are some good options out there to explore. You can always tweak things until they sound just right. Follow the steps below to utilize this feature.ġ. Using autotune on GarageBand for Mac is pretty straightforward, and you can apply it to your vocal tracks quickly when you know where to access the setting and apply it to the track. But of course, there are certain styles of songs where heavy autotune is ideal. The more on key you can sing, the better your track will be in the long run. It’s also important to know that you don’t always want to rely on these features to get perfect vocals. These are essentially different words for the same thing, and they automatically help correct the tuning of recorded vocals. Instead, you will use the Pitch Control, Pitch Correction, and Enhanced Tuning features built within the app. You shouldn’t rely on using autotune type of features to get perfect vocals all of the time, and you should still try to get good original vocal tracks that are in key.Įven though Autotune is the commonly used name for the feature in many different recording software and plugin options, you won’t actually find an Autotune button, setting, or knob within GarageBand. The process to enable these features is slightly different on the macOS and iOS versions of GarageBand.Instead, it’s called Pitch Correction, Pitch Control, or Enhanced Tuning. Autotune isn’t called autotune in GarageBand.
